I wrote the book because I realised that I spend much of my day repeating the same advice to a limited number of people. There are only so many hours in the day, and I can only share my knowledge with people who have treatment at my clinic – Moore Performance. As the leading sports injuries expert in Cambridgeshire, I have years of experience treating thousands of patients with various sports injuries. I do it not because it’s my job, but because it’s genuinely my passion.
I started my career working with professional rugby teams but, after five years in this role, I decided to use the clinical skills I acquired working with elite athletes to good use by opening a clinic that would be accessible to everyone. I wanted to extend the same level of care, knowledge, and individualised treatment to anyone looking for it.
By writing this book, I’ve seen countless mistakes and witnessed people trying exercises they’ve seen online that simply don’t work. Through this book, I want to share the proven, research-backed strategies that have been effective throughout my career in professional rugby and in running a large sports injury clinic. My goal is to help as many people as possible continue playing their sports and avoid the common pitfalls.
The aim of Weekend Warrior is to disseminate this knowledge widely so that more people can benefit from the advice and ultimately avoid the mistakes that I, and many others in sports, have made in the past. If we can prevent these errors, we’ll all be in a much better place than where we started.
Who Is Will Moore?
I used to work in professional rugby, both in rugby league and rugby union. My last position was with the London Broncos, a rugby league club, and before that, I worked with various other professional outfits, including Gloucester. I’ve had the privilege of working at the highest level in professional rugby across both codes, and now I want to share the experience and skills I developed with elite athletes with a broader audience.
This desire led me to establish Moore Performance, a sports injury clinic in Cambridgeshire. The clinic uses the same philosophies and techniques I applied in professional sports, making them accessible to anyone who seeks our advice and care. We currently operate three clinics in the area and are rapidly expanding, helping people return to healthy and active lives without relying on painkillers, braces, or supports.
Our goal is to help everyone, whether it’s enabling someone to walk to the shops without a cane or helping elite athletes stay injury-free and perform at the highest level. We apply the same framework to a wide variety of sports, ensuring that our clients can achieve their goals, whether they’re at the peak of their sport or simply striving to live a healthier life.
